JAsper and Juvenile Arthritis
Juvenile Arthritis (JA) is one of the most common childhood autoimmune disease affecting up to one in every 1000 children in Ireland. In fact, the incidence of arthritis in children is nearly as common as childhood diabetes. Children and young people with arthritis can face a range of challenges physical, social and emotional but with support they can lead independent and full lives. Arthritis Ireland offers support to the parents and families of JA through our Helpline 1890252846, our nationwide volunteer branches, free information booklets via telephone 01 6618188 and website www.arthritisireland.ie. We also run family days, JA Independence Breaks and are developing self management programmes for young people with arthritis.
