Home Health Care La Jolla Firstat Nursing Services Supports Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month; How Home Health Care Can Help Families Cope
La Jolla, CA (PRWEB) July 18, 2012
A debilitating condition requiring physical assistance, frequent medication and special care, Juvenile Arthritis affects an entire family, said Linnea Goodrich, president of Firstat Nursing Services in San Diego, CA. Families supporting a loved one affected by the disease face unique challenges and often find it difficult to provide physical as well as emotional support without help Hiring a professional in home care provider can help by providing assistance, lending support and creating peace of mind for children and family members.
Physical Assistance for many children suffering with Juvenile Arthritis, regular, everyday activities can be painful and difficult. Having a trained professional available to assist with activities of daily living makes the seemingly impossible less challenging. From help dressing to personal hygiene, even eating, a trained and personable in home care provider lends a hand safely, efficiently and with the least amount of inconvenience and stress for all involved. Families choose the most appropriate times to have assistance- in the early morning before leaving the house for the day or in the evening when preparing for bed. With flexibility and dependability, the right in home nursing service can fit any schedule.
Support Framework Caring for a child with special needs takes an emotional toll on every member of a family. While most homes are filled with love, its a tremendous challenge to stay positive, energetic and carry out responsibilities day after day without a support system. The right in home care professional provides more than physical assistance, but offers a necessary support framework, bringing loved ones the emotional assistance they need to cope with a stressful situation in a healthy way. Many families find that employing the services of an in home care provider is like having a breath of fresh air- positive, encouraging and friendly.
Peace of Mind Proper management of Juvenile Arthritis requires a unique commitment to understanding and administering several different types of medication. Many families find having a professional in home care provider with experience using these medications creates peace of mind. A trained provider efficiently and effectively administers prescriptions and other treatment safely and on time. Knowing that a loved one is getting the treatment they need when they need it is reassuring.
Families dealing with Juvenile Arthritis face challenges that lie beyond keeping a loved one comfortable and pain free. Having a trained and professional in home care provider visit the home makes difficult activities easier, provides an important support system for family members and gives loved ones the peace of mind they deserve, continued Goodrich.

hello,
Start off with saying bye bye to all the junk food, candy, fastfood , etc.u can still drink diet soda which has 0 calories.Include protein in your diet like eggs, low fat cheese, tuna, turkey, chocolate protein bars , etc.Walk like 30 minutes once/twice a day.Go to an online calculator and calculate how much u need calories a day and cut 500 calories from the number u get.Keep going on it til u stop getting results then cut more 200 calories from your diet.Don’t go under 800 calories a day or u will get on the starvation mode and gain all the weight back.Drink a lot of water.Stay motivated.eat negative calorie food , it takes the body more calories to digest it that the calories the body get from it.Google it ” Negative Calorie Food List” ….Eat small portions through out the day.Like always eat at almost the same time everyday so your metabolism can increase .That’s all I can think of now…Good luck

There’s a product called Arthro 7. I’ll try to find the website and I’ll be right back to paste it in. . . .
Ok, there it is. This helped me after taking it for a while.
It’s kinda expensive, but they usually send you a twofer after you’ve been buying it from them for a while.
You’ve got to remember that it took you alot of years for your arthritis to get to where it is today. So it’s going to take a while for this to begin to help it get better.
I stopped taking this stuff because of income problems, so now I dissolve unflavored gelatin in my tea a couple of times a week, and it helps some too.
Good luck.

Does glucosamine help alleviate back pain caused by osteoarthritis?
Question by Dianne W: Does glucosamine help alleviate back pain caused by osteoarthritis?
Most pain relief creams, etc. target the muscles, rather than the nerves that are affected by osteoarthritis. I have heard that glucosamine may be helpful in treating arthritis. I am not looking for a cure, just pain relief. I am currently taking high doses of Ibuprofen, which can cause liver damage. I would rather take something that targets the source of the problem. Has anyone taken glucosamine and had positive results for back pain relief?

Help with Juvenile Arthritis?
Question by : Help with Juvenile Arthritis?
I’m 17 years old and I have been semi-diagnosed with Juvenile Arthritis by a physical therapist. I have difficulty and moderate pain moving my joints, namely my wrists, elbows, shoulders, hips, and knees. The worst of it is in my arms and makes basic activities (such as writing my name, typing this) hard. I’ve always heard that the best pain relief solution is aspirin. I’ve tried it, but it doesn’t help at all. I’ve tried heating pads, muscle rubs, but nothing helps. Is there anything to make this pain go away.
I’ve had the same symptoms since I was 11. My joints would swell terribly, especially my ankles. My parents thought it was growing pains, but they started to get concerned when I turned 13. My joints were literally popping out of their sockets, mostly my hips, knees, elbows, and shoulders.
Oh, and I went to the physical therapist because I was officially diagnosed with tendinitis throughout my entire right arm as well as nerve damage in my hand and a rotator cuff injury. I draw a lot. ^^;

I’m sorry, that’s tough at any age, but you shouldn’t have to deal with it at 17.
General info…
maintain function and prevent deformities.
It is important to maintain activity as much as possible but also to rest swollen joints.
Hydrotherapy is very beneficial.
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), e.g. ibuprofen, naproxen.
Analgesics including paracetamol can be used for control of pain and fever.
Anything more than this (for pain) would have to come from your doctor/rheumatologist.
I hope it resolves. Spring is nearly here which helps a lot of us feel more able to cope.

Help Hank Aaron in the Fight Against Arthritis?
Question by George: Help Hank Aaron in the Fight Against Arthritis?
After 23 years of playing baseball, I believe you guys never think Hank Aaron was never on the disabled list even when knee osteoarthritis sidelined him.
I heard my friends said that for every fan that joins Facebook, Genzyme will make a contribution to the Arthritis Foundation but it seems I cannot find the link to his page. Do you know the link?
Thank you so much.

Answer by JL
Knee osteoarthritis (OA) can happen to anyone, including baseball legend Hank Aaron. Until now, Hank’s battle with osteoarthritis of the knee has been kept on the sidelines. Yet, in hopes of helping the 10 million Americans with the condition, Hank has teamed up with Genzyme, the maker of Synvisc-One® (hylan G-F 20) and orthopedic surgeon and author Dr. Nick DiNubile to launch “Get Back in the Game.” The program encourages the millions of people suffering with OA knee pain to take action now and to talk to their doctor about treatment options.
As proof that he is truly “Back in the Game,” Hank will walk in the Arthritis Walk on May 22, 2010 in Atlanta. For every person who joins Hank’s team, Genzyme will make a donation to the Arthritis Foundation. The link to his Facebook profile is http://www.facebook.com/TeamHank
